Port, Terminal & Shipping Division

United stepped in to the Fuel Oil Terminal operating business in the early 90s through acquiring Summit United Tank Terminal from foreign owners. This made United the first private sector firm in the country to operate such terminals. United later went on to acquiring Van Omeron Tank Terminals Ltd in the latter half of the 90s. Operating the terminals earned United the fame of being the only port operator in the world with absolutely zero handling loss throughout its operational years. United’s experience in having operated 2 very successful tank terminals led them on to establishing two more tank terminals, a Land Port and initiate fuel logistics business.

United Shipping & Logistics Services Ltd (USLSL) started its operation from last quarter of 2014. It has one vessel of 1,700 MT in its fleet and another chartered vessel of the same capacity. Till date, more than 100 fuel transport assignments have been successfully completed by USLSL for its customers.

Situated on 27 acres of land on the banks of the Naaf River at the southernmost point of Bangladesh, this is a port of transit for goods between our country and Myanmar

UNITED TANK TERMINAL LTD. (UTTL) is a fully owned subsidiary of United Group. UTTL’s liquid cargo storage facility is located in the southern bank of Karnaphuli River. This tank terminal has been developed upon compliance with international codes of standard. The capacity of the tanks are 10,000 MT each, with a total facility capacity up to 100,000 MT – the largest in Bangladesh. The cumulative loading and unloading speeds are 1,500 MT/hour and 750 MT/hour respectively. This will allow a mother vessel to be discharged in around 15 hours only, which is the one third the time required to discharge a vessel of similar type and category at Chittagong Port.
